We haven’t heard about EVERGLOW members almost for a month now. Lack of any activity even in important events such as Christmas leaves their fans concerned. If you remember, Yiren and Sihyeon were tested positive for COVID-19 on December 1, 2020 (related article). After that, all group members also isolated themselves.
The fans of the group (their fandom name is Forever) can’t help but wonder if they’re having trouble recovering. The other members couldn’t pretend nothing had happened while two of their bandmates were sick; and hence the group probably fell silent.
EVERGLOW made its mark this year with hits such as Dun Dun (February 2020) and La Di Da (September 2020). The group received good reviews by the critics, and managed to release the 8th most-streamed girl idol group album in Spotify with more than 72 million streams for their mini album “reminiscence” since February 2020 (full list here). Their second mini album (and fourth appearance) “-77.82X-78.29“, featuring La Di Da, was also a pretty good album. The group is doing well, but we can argue that they still haven’t gotten the attention they deserve, especially in Korea.
We hope they gather up quickly and rejoice us with their good news. We wish 2021 to be a very successful year for them.
