What Will Happen to IZ*ONE After Produce 101 Vote Scandal?
0

The fate of IZ*ONE after being severely affected by the Produce 101 vote manipulation scandal made the agenda of the day.

Some of the Korean audience gave harsh criticism, stating that the group should disband immediately. Thus, while just until a couple of days ago we were discussing whether the provisioned disbandment of IZ*ONE in April 2021 (in their initial contracts) should be prevented; now we are talking about immediate disbandment! Wellcome to the realm of Kpop!

We now know that two members of the IZ*ONE group remained unfairly in the group, but The High Court of Korea intentionally did not disclose the names of these members.

Of course, it is debatable how appropriate a move would be to blame and punish the group members because they are probably unaware of this …

One wonders how did the producers of Produce 101 serve such a great disgrace? Such things are unlikely to be kept secret forever; because whatever the two persons know is not a secret!

Before the vote manipulation, the group was doing well. IZ*ONE‘s album for Japan hold the record for highest first day sales ever on the Oricon Daily Music Chart! Their album titled Twelve also achieved “gold certification” in Japan. IZ*ONE paid attention to the preparations of Japan promotions and signed a record advertising campaign (you can see our article in the suggested articles section below). Let’s see how much this scandal will affect them, as the group has just picked up its pace.

In the meantime, the official statement on the subject came out. Mnet stated that they would consider paying compensation for the two candidates who were affected (they would consider! Jeeez!). The group will continue their planned activities within the scope their new album to be released on December 7, 2020 and they will showcase their title track within the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) show on December 6, 2020.

Life goes on, huh!
