BTS’s live performance of “Anpanman” at NBC TODAY was the talk of the day on 10th of September 2020.
The made their performance in the context of “Citi Music Series on Today” program, which has the motto of “Music is he shortest distance between us all”.
The announcers used the expression “Global Pop Sensation” for BTS . After the performance, the announcers were in an incredible mood. I even thought the male announcer would make a Jimin-like swing move from his seat.
This performance has a very special meaning, by the way. Anpanman is an important piece in the BTS discography that honors ordinary people as superheroes. Anpanman, the not-so-super hero, is a red bean muffin man and is the weakest hero in the world. He does not have special powers but he gives hungry people his face made of red bean bun. In this live performance, BTS bestoes this dong to healthcare workers who really performed as if they are superheros during the pandemic. Blue and white costumes also symbolizes them. This is a clear example of the deep respect and tactfulness that only can be expected from BTS . We are proud of you guys!
The live performance is really great, the sound is very clear despite the live broadcast. The vest of V looks great on him and he himself looks gorgeous. The new hair style of Jungkook looks great; and the white belt looks so beautiful on his slim waist. J-Hope’s dancing is beyond this realm, his vocal color adds a lot to this piece and his Gucci Tshirt looks fantastic on him. RM looks majestic with his wide shoulders and long height. His hair color is so in harmony with the ambiance of the music video. It is necessary to open a separate parenthesis to Jin because we observe him to be very motivated; he stands out in both vocals and dancing. Jimin sings the flirty parts of the piece and he is perfect. Suga also aced the rap part of the song.
