BTS, accompanied by a giant marching band, performed an unforgettable “ON” performance at one of Korea’s largest stadiums for the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) ceremony held on December 6, 2020. On December 17, 2020, a dance video demonstrating MAMA 2020 rehearsals was released. The video is shared on BANGTAN TV YouTube channel and has a high image quality with resolutions up to 4K (Ultra HD). It is a must-see dance performance video.
Particularly striking in the MAMA 2020 “ON” performance videos was the addition of extra dance scenes and figures to the already spectacular dance choreography of the song. One of these extra scenes belonged to BTS’s main dancer Jimin. Jimin dances with a baton in his hand after jumping over his bandmate Jungkook in this extra scene. Just when Jimin jumps over Jungkook, three female dancers in the back are thrown into the air, spreading their legs in the air, then spiraling back down. The hardest performance from the marching band must be this flying scene and it is truly amazing. The drummers of the marching band also accompany Jimin very well during his baton dance. In this part of the original performance, Jimin was again performing remarkable hand, arm and fist movements. “Jumping over Jungkook” is already quite a difficult and visually pleasing dance figure, especially with bare foot! In addition, V and J-Hope accompanied Jimin in the old version. Overall, the original version looks amazing, too.
