What did BLACKPINK Lisa talk about in the interview with ELLE China?

We have previously shared with you the magnificent photos of the interview of BLACKPINK Lisa for ELLE China magazine’s December 2020 issue. But Lisa’s answers were yet to be shared those days. Let’s read together what Lisa answered to the questions asked in this interview.

Question : When you go back in your memories, do you have a moment in your past that you want to remember and revisit again?

Lisa : “If I could go back in time to anywhere in my memories, I would like to go back to my internship days. I would try to enjoy that period much more. For how long? Maybe a week would be long, but one day of a time travel as such seems to fit; haha!

At that time, internship was all a matter of competition. These words were the same as to what I said to the trainees at Youth With You 2 . The relationship between the interns was competitive in that show, too. I personally think that competition is a good thing. Only this way, the motivation to achieve the better could emerge. You would say to yourself: “ I want to be better, I want to win”.  From another perspective, competition is the only thing that makes people work harder and fight stronger for what they want. They grow and make more progress.

Not only me, but all members who went through the training process had tiring and frustrating times. Establishing trust with own-self and all other band members is a must as well as the optimistic” We are fighting, we would debut for certain  “mentality. We supported each other and we got to where we are today. Among the members, as Rose also comes from a different country (and also because she speaks English), we always chatted with each other. Because our personalities are also compatible, we always stand on each other and draw strength from each other.”

Question : What goals do you have for the future?

Lisa : Since my dream “future” is constantly changing, it is really difficult to pinpoint my goals; haha.

For now, my goals are for everything are to get better and to be able to perform face-to-face with our fans. Although we are currently in the promotion period for BLACKPINK’s new album, we cannot do the activities that we are used to doing during normal promotion periods. It is for various reasons and the what is happening is really sad. I really miss concerts.

We traveled to many countries during the world tour. Every time we got on stage, the crowd was shouting “WOAHHH”. As soon as I heard this, I felt a powerful energy radiating from the deeps of my heart … It would make me feel as if I was blessed. We are all in love with being on stage!

Question : When you feel unhappy, what do you do to cheer yourself up?

Lisa : Whenever I see a cat video on social media, I definitely click on the video! Just looking at photos of my own cats instantly elevates my mood. In the mornings, I smile looking at their photos I shot the night before. In the night, I got delighted with their photos I took in the morning.

When I am at home, if my mood is low, I pet them gently. Just touching and loving them immediately revives me, as they are extremely cute. But I guess only “poo-pickers” (cat-owners) can understand what I’m saying, haha!

Question : Looking back, if you pick a moment in your life that you can describe as a turning point, which one would it be?

Lisa : This is the moment when I met my bandmates from BLACKPINK after passing YG ‘s talent audition. I was about 14/15 years old, I had come to Korea on my own, my family was very worried at first; that was pretty much the sour circumstances surrounding me I met with the group members. Thank God I met them; in this way, I was able to enjoy my internship days and overcome the difficulties.

Question : We know that you love photography, can you share with us what you consider the most memorable?

While in Hawaii , when walking on the sidewalk, I saw a little girl holding her mother’s hand. I really love children. The girl was so cute that I ran over to ask if I could take her picture.

After getting the permission, we started taking photos. The little girl was waving at me as she covered her eyes with her hands in a shy way. The photograph was so pure and so beautiful. Later, when I looked back at those pictures, I realized again that it was a picture that captured the innocence of the children completely and perfectly, and I felt the same feeling I felt when I had taken the picture.

I loved this picture so I shared it on my social media addresses – This photo is my best work!
