Is IZ*ONE Disbanding?

Is IZ*ONE Disbanding?

IZ*ONE, WIZ*ONE and Kpop fans are sad… If their contracts are not renewed by April 2021, IZ*ONE will disband automatically!

As 2021 approaches, fans of IZ*ONE began to argue over why the group should not disband. One of the fans pointed out the number of albums IZ*ONE sold during the promotion as a reason. IZ*ONE sold 300,000 albums, surpassing many idol groups. IZ*ONE also broke the album sales record with their Japan release two months ago.

WIZ*ONE (fandom of IZ*ONE) wish IZ*ONE’s fate would not be like the boy band “Wanna One” (see below). The album sales of the Wanna One male idol group reached millions, but the group still disbanded!

Netizens emphasized that the success achieved by IZ*ONE in such a short time. Returning three times a year, the group always worked hard. Especially, they have made the agenda of the day when they were so tired and sleepy in a live TV program (for details: korebu.com/en/izone-members-were-so-tired-and-sleepy-on-live-tv)

Moreover, despite having as much as 12 members, IZ*ONE is an all-visuals (all group members are attractive) group, as well as having great singing skills. On the other hand, despite selling a lot of albums, they were excluded from the Golden Disc Awards. The fact they are going to disband could also be linked to this unfair decision.

There is one thing that gives hope for possibility of “not disbanding” and a new contract for the group. During the recent Produce 101 scandal, there was a pressure on the Iz-ONE for immediate disbanding, however their agency did stand behind IZ*ONE quite firmly. This might be a sign a longer-term commitment might be on the way (for details: korebu.com/en/what-will-iz-one-do-after-produce-101-vote-scandal)

WIZ*ONEs and all netizens loving Kpop are curiously waiting… What do you think of IZ*ONE’s possibility of not disbanding?
