(G)I-DLE ‘s new song “Last Dance” will not feature Soojin, who was accused of bullying at school. (G)- I-DLE will continue its promotions and performances as 5 people for a while.
(G)I-DLE’s new song “Last Dance”, produced by GroovyRoom, will be released exclusively to UNIVERSE later this month. Whether the song or the music video of the song, they were all prepared last February. However, due to allegations of school bullying against Soojin in March, (G)I-DLE had to re-record parts of the song that Soojin sang in the group.
The statement made at UNIVERSE is as follows:
“A new UNIVERSE Music song ‘Last Dance (Prod. GroovyRoom)’ will be released at the end of April. Recording, music video shooting and other additional content was completed in February.
However, there was a problem with Soojin in March and (G)I-DLE is currently working as a five-person team.
UNIVERSE discussed with Cube Entertainment how to proceed with the currently produced song and music video, and after considering distributors, partners, and both financial and moral contractual relationship, they decided it would be difficult to produce entirely new content.
The composition and lyrics of “Last Dance (Prod. GroovyRoom)” were changed and five (G) I-DLE members re-recorded the song. Other additional content such as pictures and video shooting will be shared as a team of five as best we can. Finally, we will re-edit and post the music video to minimize Soojin’s appearance because it costs a lot of money and includes production staff from several partner companies.
