(G)I-DLE’s Soojin posted a message on CUBE Entertainment’s fan site app U-CUBE on February 22, 2021, denying allegations of school bullying against her.
Soojin first admitted that she had smoked “several times” in the past, but announced that she quit smoking altogether. Soojin’s message is as follows:
Hello, I’m Soojin. I thought a lot before writing this message. When I was a student, I was glaring, and it’s true that there were often negative rumors about me. I used to wear clothes that didn’t follow the school rules and I tried smoking a few times out of curiosity.
I was rebellious when I was younger but I haven’t smoked since then. Although I say I corrected myself, I believe that everything that happens today is the result of my embarrassing past and the behavior I want to apologize for.
But to be honest there are some things that aren’t true. I usually let the malicious rumors disappear. However, I know that this causes my fans to worry a lot. That’s why I want to cover everything at once.
I don’t know if you can believe this, but as far as I remember I’ll tell you what happened.
I’ve always thought of the girl who accused me of bullying as my friend. I remember we had dinner at her house and went to the movies with her and her sister. In fact, her older sister once helped me when someone from the school sent me threatening messages. I am always grateful to her and remember her as a good person.
After reading the article, I realized why my friend was trying to distance us. As far as I remember, we had a fight with my friend because she didn’t keep his word. This was not her first time, so I remember getting mad at her. I didn’t know she was trying to push me away. I also remember saying bad words to her on the phone. Third, I didn’t send a message to a group of other classmates trying to bully her.
Fourth, I never stole other people’s school uniforms or belongings.
Fifth, I never talked to actress Seo Shin Ae when we went to school together. I’m sorry she looks like she is angry with this situation.
