BTS achieved four trophies at E! the People’s Choice Awards. BTS was nominated for “2020’s Best Group”, “2020’s Song (Dynamite)”, 2020’s Best Music Video (Dynamite) and “2020’s Album (Map of the Soul: 7)”. BTS has managed to sweep all four of them!
In the short video (VTR) in which BTS members greet the awards, it was unavoidably sad that Suga was absent due to his recent shoulder surgery!
E! People’s Choice Awards are determined entirely by fan votes. That’s why K-pop bands do have a strong stand (in areas where they are nominated for) for their strong fandoms. However, in 2019, BTS was not able to receive awards in any of the fields they were nominated for. In all of those areas, BLACKPINK and Kill This Love brought home all the awards. In riposte, ARMY placed almost all BTS tracks on top spot of the USA iTunes charts one after another. This year, ARMY didn’t take any chances at the People’s Choice Awards and swept all the awards!
